Caught some nice fish on the chowan.....3/11/07

got out at the butt crack of noon and fished for about three hours and caught 7. Biggest being just shy of 3 pounds, but only caught one dink. Was cranking in 8 to 13 feet of water by the 13 bridge......also caught two on slow rolling a spinnerbait at the same depths. Water temps. were a lot lower in the main body of the chowan compared to where i was last week in the meherrin(think i spelled it right..LOL) Temps were around 49. Hey Purple I caught 6 of the 7 in your honey hole .

Guys you could drive me to a tank of water on the Chowan, filled with 6 pounders plus, and I'd figure a way to catch a 13 inch fish out of their bellies. I love that river and the Nottoway too, they have just been kickin my tail since the hurricanes a few years ago.

Eventually all those 13 inch fish have got to grow up right?

that's right mike......they were packed in there.....fast and furious action until I broke off the crank I was using on some debris about 8 foot down

They are as good,funny how we all tend to fire up the Big engines and a ton of fish are right there at the ramp.Secret between you and I right? I'm good for Sunday as I am fishing a tourney on Saturday.
