    Spider 1 ChampioNman 0

Well I was having a lovely Saturday morning last week with out a care in the world, I was going out with my bud to plant some brush on the home lake. Wife decides she needs to cut the grass but the engine is dying out so I have her take it back to the shop and I give it a quick once over. Belt needs adjusting so I take my old on the ground quilt out and lay it on the ground. Mission accomplished and she's happily cutting grass and I'm happily headed towards the lake. About an hour later I feel a little itch on my fuel tank for a sex machine (belly) check it out and figure a Gnat got me. Monday I get up to get ready for work and look down to where the bite was and now it has turned into a bullseye wound about the size of a quarter. I'm thinking this don't look too swift and figure it's a spider bite , I put some peroxide on it and off to work I go. Tuesday morning My muscles are kinda sore and take a Advil now big deal but when I get home I am worn out and head straight to the sack, Wednesday no better and back in the sack early, went to the ER yesterday and they confirmed yep was a spider bite, took a bunch of blood and are waiting the results for west nile and lyme disease. Otherwise healthy Doc gave me a script for anti-biotics that is supposed to get rid of the toxins. Funny thing was the 1st doc that saw me was an Oriental gal Dr. Ding, she asked me if I work in the yard naked? I said sure doesn't everybody? . Feeling better now as the fever broke last night early this AM. Thanks for checking up on me John I appreciate it . Moral of the story watch out for them little buggers as you can"t see them (brown recluse) and don't work in the yard naked CM

    ChampioNman:

Glad to hear you are on the mend.

As to your warning: "do not work in the yard naked".........I expect that there are a lot of reasons not to work in the yard naked ....sharp objects, sharp tools, neighbors, local law enforcement,....

thanks again for your help on the 225 E-rude flywheel

Only you could go to the ER and be seen by a good looking oriental chick!! Who helped her pick out her USA name?? Anyway wondered why I hadn't heard from you this week. BTW how about sending Jackie down to mow my yard, seems that we got about 5 inches of rain this week and the grass is growing faster than I can keep up with it.

    Peace,
    You Know Who<><

Fred, have you noticed any development of keen Spidey senses? (e.g. ability to change the channel with the remote faster, catch beers without looking, etc.)

    Glad you're doing OK!!

Have you bought a red outfit yet and started to swing from building to building using "web juice" shot from your wrists while looking for "bad guys"?

Re: Spider 1 ChampioNman 0 (ChampioNman)

Folks, these spider bites are very serious. CM, are you sure it was a Brown Recluse and not a Black Widow? I was bitten years ago three times on the back by a Black Widow and I crawled around for days until the fever broke. Doc said it was a good thing I was overweight. I have much more respect for those little bastages now.

The reason I asked about the Brown Recluse was that if that's what got you, the fun probably isn't over yet. I have a Doc in the family who sent us pictures of one of her co-workers who got bitten on the thumb by a Brown Recluse and she asked that we pass on the pictures, which are quite graphic, to make folks aware of what these spiders look like and how much damage a bite can cause. If any of you BBC'ers need to see them, Zap me an email. I thought after my experience I had a clue, but I was very wrong. That's one bad spider.

Fred, I wondered where you were. I wasn't worried but, now I am. Take some of them golf balls in your yard and put Spidey Bait on them and they will have plenty to deal with.
Glad you're feeling better, and I know what you mean about Asian Chics who are Dr.'s. I had one before and she was a joy to watch. WooHoooo!!!!
