    Gamestop

Anyone else following this story that last week or so? Absolutely crazy that people came in to blow up short positions on a company with a dead business model. Financial market terrorism based on some things I have read. Harassing and threatening the people and their families that were short. Some crazy people out there.

I haven't seen the stories, but have watched the stock skyrocket. It was a stock in the teens not very long ago.

Go to reddit and read about it. Bunch of 20 somethings doing most of it. Hard to read and understand as their way of thinking is much different from ours. Lots of name calling and disrespect on their part. It's under wallstreetbets.

Wow. From $3 to $160 peak in a few months. Maybe an upside to wallstreetbets will be fewer people with big short positions. I think big shorts have tried to manupulate the market in the past. Looks like wallstreetbets is going after any stock that has high short positions.

Jim Cramer tweeted that "Short selling is dead". The one point that someone did discuss is without the shorts no one will be around to cover and buy these shares when they drop so they could go into free fall. The one great idea I heard was to buy a put a few months out. You should be able to sell it for a pretty penny if it tanks below the strike price. My son said he was going to buy 2 shares when the market opens tomorrow. My response: "Ok dumbass" but he will probably make money

Yeah, GME almost broke the market. I think the huge pull back yesterday morning had a lot to do with it. It halted 7 times and option strikes were added intraday. For once, the house didn’t win.

I love watching how CNBC is covering it. They're constantly degrading the GME longs and talking about possible SEC investigations and laws that may be broken. But CNBC just loves it when billion dollar fund managers come on to talk about shorting companies and make false allegations of fraud. CNBC doesn't care about the jobs lost at these companies or the millions of market cap that disappear. But, oh no we can't have retail go long and help a company.

I love watching short sellers get squeezed.

Gamestop is going to die though. Everyone does digital downloads and we haven't been in a gamestop in years. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts. It is at least entertaining. Time to find the next company with big short interests and buy some shares before they run it up

I'm going with SPCE for the next squeeze. If GME can go to 150 why can't SPCE go to 300

Melvin Capital, the fund that is short GME, will be bankrupt and forced to cover. Their price to cover will be $420.69

Going to be an epic short squeeze this morning when the market opens, in multiple stocks, that might last for a few more days. Probably a once in a lifetime event

I think so, but how do they regulate this from happening again? All those hedgers will be back at it when the smoke clears.
