    tilt trim 93 evinrude 200xp.

I've got a problem not sure how to fix. 200 xp evinrude, tilt / trim is intermittently not working. any switch, on motor, on throttle, or on bow switch. Then, day later, I'm showing someone my problem, and boom, it's working. I go back out next day, and it works for a minute, and then it's out again. I've never had any trouble with any part of the tilt before, so I just don't understand it.

I've done a little homework on the other tilt/trim thread, got some new relays to try out to make sure it's not bad relays. They are clicking when I hit the switch on the motor, but nothing is happening (even when I use the different ones).

So, I'm thinking it's the motor, and read where someone said it's not too difficult to change the motor, but I have no idea how to get one of the screws out to get the motor off & check it.

What will I have to do to get this off, or do I need to take it in to a shop? Which wire to I need to bypass the switch to to see if it's a wiring problem? Again, everything looks tight, nothing loose & nothing that I can see that's worn (wiring that is). Here are some pics of the system. Think it's a fastrack system & showa motor, just not sure on the size (according to the seloc manual. Any tips?

So, minor update. I think I tracked the blue & green wires into the motor housing from the trim motor, and bypassed each to the positive side of the battery. nothing. It sounds like & looks like a bad trim motor. I still need some help figuring out how to get that back screw that's up against the trim assembly. I can barely get my fingers around that 4th screw on that dude. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You need to remove the pin from the tilt ram on top of the bracket. You can either use the trailer bracket to support the motor or use a piece of wood across the top of the mounting bracket so the motor won't come down on you prior to removal. Drive the pin out and run the tilt ram down to clear the bracket. The tilt/trim assembly will now tilt outwards towards you and you can now remove the screws and the motor. You need to remove the spade connectors from the power plug and feed it out of the motor and bracket.

Well, I've managed to get the old trim motor off, will post some pics tonight. Removing the pin from the tilt ram did help. It's still somewhat of a tight squeeze to get that one screw out. Just waiting now on the new part in.

I do have a couple of hydraulic fluid questions now. When I pulled the motor off, I lost a little fluid, maybe 1/8 of a cup. I'll make sure that the reservoir is full. Will I need to bleed air from the system after I put the new motor on? If so, will I need to leave the manual release out when priming the system? I've read the manual where it says to go up & down 5 times to get the air out, but I'm just trying to be sure I'm doing this right. Thanks again for the assistance.
