    Pipestone Lake (MI) - 11/24/09

So the river pretty much sucked!! Went to my new lake Pipestone that I started fishing this year. Water temp here was only 1 degree warmer than the river at 47 degrees. Got there around 1:00 and fished for another 3 hours. Used pretty much all of the same baits as I did at the river. Nothing doing. Then I started throwing a rattletrap and caught a 6" largemouth bass. I was thinking, this was supposed to be a good day since it will probably be my last until next Spring. Going to winterize the boat Saturday so I can get some work done around the house before my daughter Ashley graduates from high school. I can't believe that little fish hit that rattletrap in that cold of water. So I kept jumping around the lake and then finally my highlight of the day. I hook into a good one on a spinnerbait. Now the weight of this fish is a guesstimate. My X-Tools digital said anywhere from 3-14 to 4-6. My spring scale ($5 at Walmart) said 4 and a half pounds. So I'm going to go right in the middle and call it around 4 lbs. 3 oz. Here is the picture of it. Couldn't decide which one was better so I'll post both pics of it.

Sweet!! Amazing that those largemouth will still chase moving baits. I expect that from the smallies, but largemouth? Well done! Always learn something new.

I tucked my boat in for the winter, on Wednesday.

weight 4.5lb to pic look right on. Very nice looking bass..........looks like you found you a pretty good fishing hole. Maybe this spring the lake will give up a few more nice ones for you. Good luck and stay warm!

Nice little Lake, nice fish, I caught a 6 even out of there last summer in TX. Bit a 3/8 white War Eagle. I have fished it around a dozen times a real hit or miss lake, especially in summer. That 6er was all I caught that day partner got 2 3lbers.
