1995 150 hp evinrude Intuder No power over 2000RPM

Motor idle's great, ALL fuel line replaced yesterday, new Bulb, new fuel filter. Checked plugs and wires. Put in fresh gas yesterday. No alarms going off on motor. Motor dies at 4000rpm down to 2000rpm then picks up again the down again. While in N motor will run over 7000rpm, of course I only do this for a second! Could this be my VRO, I had a problem just like this with my 90hp Johnson a few years ago, I ended up just mixing oil and gas boat ran great for years. This motor will not run with LOAD. If I run a 6 gallon tank with pre-mix oil and gas to motor this should answer a few questions right? any ideas? Have a great 4th

Sounds as if the fuel side of the pump is going bad. You can get a new VRO and not mix or you can get a fuel only pump, mix and save about $40.00. And risk not mixing correctly.

Can I mix gas and oil in tank only or do I have to change any or all pumps?

The VRO is an all in one pump. It stands for Variable Ratio Oiling. If you opt not to spend the $435.00 for a new one, you can get a Fuel pump that is just that a fuel only pump and you would need to premix your oil with the gas in the fuel tank at a 50:1 mix. With your 150 there isn't a way around not replacing it as the pump plugs into the fuel assembly on the motor.

Thanks guys for all the info, took boat out this morning and ran even worse, My mind exploded!!! I started all over again with every little thing I could think of, Turns out that my selector switch was not all the way open, I opened it all the way, by hand, primed bulb got hard after 2 pumps, started motor ran like a top, 58mph before I used the jack plate. 3 days later, countless hours and problem solved, something so simple. LOVE MY BOAT AGAIN, Guys have a Happy 4th! by the way I caught a 3lber and a 2.4lber this morning turned out GREAT
