    Falcon Report

There were 6 people in our group and we fished Thurs and Fri, got blown out Sat by wind, and went for a short while Sunday morning. For starters, I got my azz thoroughly trounced by ToledoBendChamp. The best 5 string out of our group was Thurs @ 36 lb with an 8 and a 9. That guy lost one at the boat he thought was about 11. Another fellow with us got a 10.1 and joined the DD club. I don't have a count on the 6's and 7's - there were a bunch. The fish are just outside the visible brush, with the best fish around 15 feet on out to 20. Deep diving cranks and carolina rigs did the most damage. The cranks have to go down deep and you will need to use lighter line to get them down to the brush - and you will need a pocket full of them as you will make a nice contribution to the brush.

When you say "lighter line", just how light are you saying? I'm headed down there in a month and am really curious how much I'm going to have to upsize my line.
    Sounds like y'all had fun!

    Re: Falcon Report (Skip)

Keegan might come along and post pics. Unless you want to see 4's and 5's I have nothing to offer. I did stick a very nice fish yesterday that tail walked down the side of the boat, spit the hook and shot me the finger.
By lighter line I mean 14 or 15 lb, heavier than that and you can't get the bait down into the brush at that depth. I was using 25 for carolina and tx rig, and heavy braid to drop down into the bushes. However, you can feel for rock a lot better with braid and a flouro leader. Things will change by the time you get there, the fish are post spawn now.
Jimmy the water in the north end is beautiful green with visibility of about 2 inches, it is full of algae. Our fish came from mid-lake on down to the south end. The farther south you go, the more clear it was. That might change by the time you get there.

Thanks Charlie, Glad you had a good time. We will start out at the cove under the bridge on north end, and work towards the dam. I dont think it would take long to make a run to the dam from the bridge...Its going to be fun anywhere we fish I would bet. 8 more days, but who is counting lol
