    Settle for Some Boiler PICS

    Steam Drum

    Boiler in fabrication

Half of a boiler. Upper and lower drums and convection tubes laying on it side for shipment. The furnace section will be installed on site in Houston. Then it is on the ship to Saudi. That is Tanner standing by the tire. 6'3 tall. The trailer has 80 tires on the ground. Add the pull truck and the push truck.. Well you get what I mean..

Big hot water heater. Use most for Steam generation in Gas and Oil plants. Use them at University and Hospitals. Anything that need mass steam. Steam is energy......

What role did you play in that thing? Welders helper? Waterboy? Carry towels and wipe the sweat off men?

Nice looking work Craig, steam drum, mud drum, down comer tubes and steam riser's.
    Craig is that a 1250# or a 950# boiler set-up?

Hugo I do up front design work and check fabrication drawings. I built them for 10 years before I went to the engineering department.
Robert we build custom boilers. I can't remember for sure but I think the boiler on the trailer is a 250,000 pph boiler. Not bad on the boiler lingo.

That's one if the few things I do for a living is run boilers/Cogeneration units, besides make water and air.

Very nice job WB and I for one don't believe you go around wipping sweat off of guy's. But just to be safe get rid of that hand towel you have sticking out of your back pocket

Re: Settle for Some Boiler PICS (Corkpuller)

I have a little bit of an idea of what y'all are building there WB. My hat's off to you & your engineering skills. If something goes wrong with them big heaters there can be a lot of damage & injury.
Back when I was a certified welder I helped build the SEGS solar generation plant in Daggett, CA (Mojave).

That was a ton of work and there were so many e-rayed welds it was incredible. Especially when it came to the super heater assembly which was spec'd for steam at 2200 psi. A leak in that will cut a man in 1/2 like a laser.

    Kudos WB

The two headers in the second pic are headers for a buried Superheater.
