Thoughts on new ghost tree update for Livescope

I got my unit back in oct 18. With 93sv all was great. No ghost tree. Purchased new 122sv ultra and had to update for it to work. Boom...ghost tree.
Original unit settings TVG Low, noise reduction low, color amber, gain 65-75.
I turned ghost tree on low and it definitely takes some of the sharpness from the screen. Ghost tree and dead zone is still there.
On medium, ghost tree and dead spot fades more and targets begin getting distorted or out of focus. I changed focus to try to help but never could.
I gave up and didn’t even try high in high settings.
It is slightly better but no where near where it was 2 years ago. I ended day with it turned off and fishing through the ghost tree and dead spot.
Overall disappointed with results. I will mess with settings again to maybe find a happy medium. My hopes dimming though.

I just got a new 1022 and livescope. Should be here by weeks end. If the ghost tree is bad on unit and I wanted to roll back on updates. Do you have to roll back on unit and livescope box?

I did roll back to 2.2. It didn't get rid of my ghost tree/dead zone but the overall picture was a little sharper. Glad it fixed yours but it didn't fix mine.
I've loaded the new software and hope to get out to test it this week. So far the reviews have been disappointing.

If you want to roll back to 2.20 you will have to do it through your 1022.
You will then have 2.20 on your live scope box and 1022. Then you can unplug network cable to box and re install newest update on your 1022.
    Connect network cable back.

Might not fix all but for forward view 2.2 IS 100% the best option.

I may try it again. Winter crappie fishing is coming and the dead spot is right where my jigs sit. I could deal with it bass fishing but this may make be "deep six" everything garmin.

I deleted it. Where can I get it again?

I did a search for it and found a thread with a Dropbox link. That was yesterday though. You should be able to find it.

My question is can you go back to a earlier update if your unit or module came to you with a later one? I thought with my lowrance units that if you bought one that came with let’s say update 2
you could never go back any earlier than 2. Just didn’t know if it’s the same with garmin.

I have gone backwards on my Lowrance units. I may be going back on my Livescope, but I keep questioning why I would since I am able to use it and catch fish just fine. The biggest complaints are with ghost tree and dead spot, and neither of those have an effect on the way I use my scope.

From what I seen today the new "Ghost Tree Reject" is useless.
It does seem to change the view some but I wouldn't call it better.
I tried many different combinations of noise reject and ghost tree reject and didn't like any of them.
I went back to noise reject medium and ghost tree off. Yes I still have a big ole dead/void area in front of the boat from top to bottom but at least the water here is a little stained and the crappie a little less spooky.
Has anybody had any really success using the ghost tree reject feature?

Did the update on mine today and if I’m in 10 foot or less, it’s a blurry mess with a big dead spot..almost like a beam is turned off.. when I got to 20ft it was a lot better, still pretty blurry..def not as good as it was last year

Yes, you can. I purchased my Echomap UHD 93sv livescope setup a month ago. It came with the 93sv at v12.00 and GLS10 at 2.41...I rolled mine back to v10.10 on 93sv and v2.20 on the GLS10. You have to do a "FORCED" update. Also, I did this with the file that was linked in the other thread about rolling back. It worked and updated without any issue.

Royt Im sorry you are still having problems. Unfortunately I don't think you might ever get your Garmin issues resolved.

I downloaded the latest software. I get a very thin line which I know is the "ghost tree" echo. I have to really look at the graph to see the arch. I figured out that was what it was about 20 or 30 feet out. But the fish swim right through it and it only basically puts a little line on them when they are passing through the zone. So its there but very faint. My biggest issue is when in spot lock. It moves when the spot lock feature on the trolling motor starts searching. If there is a breeze the spot lock settles in nicely and Livescope stays basically locked in. But not so much when there is no breeze.

    Tromanoski,
I think that you are correct. Or until Garmin comes out with a 2nd generation transducer/black box with a separate transducer for Perspective View. I wouldn't be surprised to see this released next year. We will see.

Maybe a new UHD Livescope version.
