    Neat fishing experience

Well, after catching a 6 1/2 lb freshwater drum thinking I have the lake record, I continue to catch quite a few bass. I head into the dock to pick up my son and there are 2 guys fishing near my neighbors floating dock. We strike up a conversation and they are 2 Army officers from Ft. Polk who have only caught 2 fish the whole day. After my son gets on board, I tell these guys to follow me to a deep water spot and we end up catching about 30 the next couple of hours. These guys had a ball and had only fished Toledo Bend twice, so they were just pounding the bank. They mentioned that this is the first time to catch fish deeper than 20 feet deep. They were very appreciative and it made me feel good to put some soldiers on fish. Of course, if they weren't soldiers or friends, I probably wouldn't have shared my spot......lol

    Jeff,
Let me know next time you get down here. If you like some wintertime deep water fishing, I can hook you up. While most folks are in the deer stand, I'm sitting on a jigging spoon/drop shot spot. Heck, 2 years ago I fished a couple of days before Christmas in the snow and wore them out in 30-40 feet of water..

    THAT WAS ME!!!!!

I was actually hoping I would find you on the board!!!!

I can't thank you enough for that evening!! It really turned my day around and opened my eyes!

You'll probably be seeing me alot more out there, at least until the water goes up and I find other ramps to launch from!!
I promise I won't drain the fish out of your spot! but it's likely that it'll be a spot I return to at the end of the day, if I haven't been catching em anywhere else.

I'll be out on the bend this weekend with someone I met on the "Louisiana club" board, and he'll be showing me how to navigate out there in all that wood

once again, I really appreciate you showing me that spot, and just sharing a bit of your knowledge with me!!

Nice to meet you on BBC.........Now, were you the crazy guy up front or the laid back guy in the back? Just joking. It was nice to meet you. I just got back from the lake after fishing Thurs/Friday. Wasn't as good as last week, but not too bad, 22 on Thurs. I will keep my eyes open for you guys.....It was a pleasure!!!!

After paying further attention to your screen name, I realized you are the crazy guy in that boat. My son still talks about your laugh while fighting fish.

I tend to get that a lot.... (people either love it or hate it)
I'm just one of those animated type of folks, and after a long day of nothingness...
needless to say, my excitement had peaked in that short hour period!!!!

If you ever hear that high pitched voice screaming across the lake, you know I'm on fish!!!

    ONCE AGAIN, THANKS!!!!
