150 GT, purple wire, main harnass, new style VRO

Instructions for conversion from 3 wire to 4 wire say to cut into main harnass and find, cut and splice motor side purple wire to 4th (purple) wire from new VRO. Do I just pull whats left of the purple wire and needle from the main splice connecter and abandon it?? Instructions say nothing about what to do with what's left.

BTW what is the purple wire, comes from under the flywheel, some kind of pulse wire????

By "Splice" it means to just tie into the purple, don't abandon either end, you just want to splice into it.

The purple wire is 12 Volt switched B+.
