    Compression Check and Bogging down

I fished a tournament this weekend down the Potomac river this weekend and practiced for 2 days. During practice my boat ran good but on the tournament day I ran about 20 miles in the boat and fished for a couple of hours when I went to move to another spot the motor didn't want to run the right way, I thought maybe I flooded it but the guy that was on my boat with me pumped the ball and I was able to get the boat back on plane to the ramp area. The motor seems to be bogging down when I go to give it throttle it doesn't sound right while idling either. I have a 1995 Evinrude Intruder ( 175 hp ). Any thoughts or ideas what could be the issue? I checked the water seperator and the gas looks OK , I did a compression check and I was curious about that too, the top 4 cyclinders are 100 psi and the bottom 2 are 92 psi is that OK as well?

Compression is good. Remove the airbox and look on the left side of the belly pans where the fuel lines and cables come into the boat. You will see two clear plastic tubes. With the motor on cooling muffs start the motor and monitor the bottom tube for air bubbles. Also verify your timing roller per the attached sticky on the top of the page.

I may have messed up the starter as well trying to get the boat running and it sounds like the bendix is grinding on the flywheel, if there are bubbles in that clear tube what would be the next this to look for to make the repair?

Find the cause for the air intrusion into the fuel system and correct it.
