    Fury 24 help

    I recently repowered to a Pro xs 200 and added a hydraulic jp with 6" set back. The shop put a Fury 24 on and said that's what the Mercury calculator came up with. I've only got 9 hours on the motor so far so break-in isn't quite complete but what I've noticed is that unless the jack plate is all the way down, the prop blows out coming up on plane. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Need prop to pad measurement with jack Plate down.
    that prop is slipping loosing grip
    Have u plugged of any vent holes to control venting?

    TK II gear case vents a lot more at nose over and may require a large pvs plug or two on a two stroke, may require solids on the four strokes, Try different combinations to get it right

    Plug the holes....I am thinking fully plugged but you can work up and see as ya go.

    If it is a four stroke as I suspect, I agree and gradually increase to find the sweet spot

    I haven't got a measurement with the jack plate all the way down yet but I did plug all the vent holes and really didn't notice a difference.

    Have buddy with 200 HP 4/stroke on 819 Phoenix and has 23 Fury. It is sweet in every way I can think of. Has 8 inch manual jack plate.

    It's hard to believe they put a 24 Fury on it with all the weight your carrying. How many rpm's have you been turning at take off and at WOT. Have you checked to make sure the Talons aren't dragging on take off.

    Talons aren't dragging. I'll have to watch my rpms during a hole shot when I go out on Wednesday. What pitch would you recommend? I'm kinda thinking maybe a 23???

    If it's going to 4100 at break over you need to plug some holes. How many rpm's can you turn it at WOT now and what speed? If you low on rpm's at WOT you may need a 23" prop.

    I wasn't able to take the boat out Wednesday due to a medical emergency with my stepdad and today I wasn't feeling very well due to something I ate. I'm hopping to get ot in the morning and get the P2P measurement and watch my RPMs as I'm coming up on pad. I'm fairly sure I need to drop down to a 23p prop though but I'll let you more experienced guys let me know after I get the numbers.

    RPMs are between 3000 and 3100 when breaking over.
