8' is no problem. 7' you have to play with the motor, but at 8' you will not have an issue on level ground. Just take the back running light down and don't ask me no dam questions about that.

I did the same in that shed at the lake Charlie, just so happens my stern light breaks over between the top of the pole and the light and I didn't bend it in a 90.

There's nothing over 6' tall on my 187 Champ. I have a 7' door and an 8' ceiling but I have two cross beams running across that mean I have 7' of clearance. No problem. The front pedestal, rear seat and motor all come in under 6' tall.

Used to have a 8' wide door but upgraded to 10'.
I did many boats with the 8' but you had to really be awake.
    The 10 is perfect.
You still have to pay attention, but easily doable.
    I wouldn't want any narrower.

Re: Keep yer boat in a standard garage? (WB)

I think it will "work" troy. I do not, however, think you will be happy with it. I have 10' doors on my shop and they are just about right, could be a little higher. In and out of the boat with rods is the determining factor...If you hit the rafters every time you grab a rod it gets agrivating! That also applies to sitting in the boat re- tieing. I just think that 2k will be worth every penny if for no other reason than to not have to watch your rod tips every time ya grab one! And, what if ya ever get one of them center consoles that toledo is starting to get a reputation for...

    Just my opinion!

you didn't have to remind me JD You are correct but I'm thinkin I can adjust. After having the boat in my current shop and then piddling around in it at the lake under that short carport I beat the chit out my rods for a few months.

I think you need to put some more wax on that motor.

My garage is a standard garage, I think 8' high clearence. I do have a little set back on the side I park the boat on. I've been thinking about a storage for my boat behind my fense.

I have a standard 8' door. I must lower my 250 Yamaha on my 201 to get it under the door support. I think it would be more than worth it to have the extra height.
