Despite the unbelievable number of boats on Ivie, the 25 to 30 mph winds and the 110 degrees Sunday, Mrs Hag hung in there with me and caught her new personal best.
Her previous personal bests were an 8 1/2 from Amistad and one from Ivie. She was using a F5 in Bluegill on a Texas rig when I heard the drag screaming from the back of the boat. She did an awesome job of keeping it out of the trees that surrounded us. I thought it might push the double digit mark. So, we took it up to Jerry's at Elm Creek for an official weight. She was tickled to death to see it hit the scales at 10.01. After some quick pictures, Mrs Hag got to release her back for someone else to enjoy!!
While getting her out of the net and telling her I thought it was a 10, I guess I was being too slow at getting a good hold on the hawg to get the hook out. She demanded, "give me my fish!!!"
I think I should get a really nice tip for putting her on that hawg!!
