    Diawa/Shimano SLX DC

I have mainly Diawa reels. Using Tatula SVs, Rs 100 etc. Reels have been pretty good but they are starting to give me some issues. Looking at the Shimano Reels again. I was a Shimano man but got away from them due to not liking the Curado changes. Anyone using the SLX DC and can compare it to the Diawa SV and or 100s? Thanks Greg

what issues are you having with the Daiwa?
You should know that in bee tending if you don't shut your trap the bees will get out.

I have a Daiwa Tatula SV TW and also have a couple Curado DC's, which use the same digital cast control system as the SLX DC's. The only area where I can say from my experience that the DC reels are undoubtedly better than the Daiwa SV reel is when casting into a brisk wind. The DC system does a fantastic job of preventing backlashes and getting longer casts in those conditions. They also can be a great reel for someone new to skipping baits, but with a little practice the SV reels are just as good at skipping as the DC reels. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the SLX DC reel, but I wouldn't expect it to necessarily be a better reel than the Daiwa Tatula SV. That's just my 2 cents.

Making some noises like a bearing is going bad, casting distance is diminished as well as a screw or two coming out. Still great reels just looking at what is out there. Greg

Buy one, test drive the slx for a bit, if you don't like it the resale on like new reels is pretty good!

I have a curado dc,slx dc and and a 2020 tatula sv 103 that i have been using since april. To me the sv is better with light baits and pitching and skipping. The dc is better for distance with heavier stuff. The curado is worth the extra money to me over the slx. I,ll probably get another sv 103 and curado dc both excellent reels .
