Sunday at Lake O.H. Ivie it was some what windy, but it was good to be able to welcome some new couples to the Texas Bass Couples Tournament Trail and see some of our friends from years past. The wind may have keep a few couples at home but Pam and I were excited to see twenty five couples make the trip. Elm Creek Village Marina, again was a great host and some of the best food anywhere.You need to try the Chicken Fried Steak it's one of the best in Texas.
Floyd & Tonya Kaerwer from Abilene, the TBC North West Regional directors and our West Team of the Year in 2010 won the tournament with five fish weighing 13.83 lbs. and a $600 pay day plus a plaque. Dewey & Carolyn Nichols from Merkel took second with 11.45lbs and the only other team that had five fish. Their efforts gave them a check for $350 and a plaque. Third Place went to Frank & Brandi Mixon of Abilene with 11.08lbs for $200 and a plaque. Johnny & Ina Grice from Early, new this year to TBC, took fourth place with 8.68lbs and $150. Ronnie and Jeanne Wallace took 5th place with 7.50lbs and $92.
Our next tournament for the west region will again be on Lake O.H. Ivie March 27th going out of Elm Creek Village. If you have not had a chance to come and fish the Texas Bass Couples Tournament Trail yet please come and give us a try.
Remember that on Saturday the 26th there will be the Bassin' Bunch Bass Clubs Special Olympics tournament at Concho Park on Ivie so if you are able fish with them it's one great tournament and does a lot of good. For additional information call Jim Dixon at 432-559-9656.

Yes, Ivie is always on the west schedule. This year it's on it twice, maybe we can find some place out of the wind this next month. We try to move the tournaments around to different lake but water levels don't always make it possible. There are lots of good lake they just need water or some of them need fish.
