Humminbird 998 lost left side scan

Hey guys, I have a 998 and when I go to the side scan screen whether it full screen or partial screen combined with another view it only shows the right side. I have changed the setting to show both sides and left side only but it will not display the left. The right side displays fine. In the both side setting, the boat is in the middle, right side is fine but left side is all black. Any ideas or thoughts before I do a factory reset? If I do a factory reset will it erase my waypoints? Thanks.

Had the same problem once, turned out to be a bad transducer

No, Restore Defaults does not affect the unit's waypoint library.
