    St Clair ramp info

Staying close to the selfridge ramp. Is that area good for smallmouth like the south or west side of that big point? How long would it take to boat around to the Mile roads?

That's a long haul. 20-30 minute ride if it's calm. Doable, but not ideal. If we fish the Mile Roads we head out of Harley Ensign. Not sure if you're up here yet but there is talk that the Crocker ramp might open by the weekend. We'll see.....something to keep an eye on if you are coming up.

Only been a couple times and always go out of the DNR ramp. Think CRCO.

The Clinton River Cutoff ramp is the same as SAL321 mentioned, just a lot of people refer to it as the Crocker ramp because that's the closest cross street. Harley Ensign and Selfridge are DNR ramps as well. Could go out of St Clair Metropark, not my choice of launches though. 9 Mile launch is the closest obviously. In all honesty though, Selfridge is only 5 minutes or so longer than Harley to the mile roads. With Crocker closed we've been launching out of Harley pretty much every time we've been on LSC.

So any idea if 9mile will be open this weekend? Two weeks ago it was open, but closed last weekend...

Drove by Crocker / CRCO around 9 last night, not what I was hoping for.

Not sure if they intend to haul the pile of "stuff" in the field before they open but if that is the case it will add a couple days. I still say we are looking at late next week in line with the lockdown being over. If they hustled its couple days of honest work.

Great info! Out of curiosity, why do you not like/prefer Metropark? I’ve used it in the past with no issues. Just wondering if you’ve had negative experiences there and if I should avoid it.

Most guys don’t like the long idle required going and coming from the lake.

Metro is expensive if you don't buy a season pass. They took the Archer street bridge out a couple years ago. It doesn't take long at all to get to the lake if you take the shortcut. They charge $20 per day to launch. Season pass is $75. Drove by Crocker last night, still looks like a mess to me.

Yup very easy main lake access with the new bridge. Thanks for the info.

The crocker ramp in question is closed due to dredging that has to be done every spring. The 9 mile ramp had a jackass destroy the dock when they backed out still attached to the dock. How many ramps should there be? Have you ever come up here and fished the lake? There is plenty of access.

No bad experience, and the long idle out doesn’t really bother me too much but my wife doesn’t like it. But more so than anything is it’s far too busy. Harley was crazy busy yesterday at the ramp but we can load up fast and get out so that doesn’t bother me, just don’t like the boat traffic at Metro.

While at Harley, we spoke with a worker and she told us Crocker will be down for another 2-3 weeks

So Crocker is the DNR CRCO ramp? I called DNR and they said it was open. Guess they have no clue. Said they don't have the man power to do any work right now because if Covid 19. Headed up this weekend was hoping to use that ramp. Only one I have ever used

Just got home from a week of LSC fishing. We used metro once and Selfridge a few times. The run from Selfridge to mile roads isn't that bad. We also put in on the north channel up by Algonac which was a 10 min run from the Moot.
