Ethanol regular or premium gas with 225HO etec

Just wonder what people thoughts are on the use of gas with ethanol vs premium 91 octane gas. Here where I live they have just introduced regular gas now with 10% ethanol, mid-grade with 5% ethanol and premium is ethanol free. What are people using in their etec and why, ethanol gas with gas conditioner or premium gas?

    thx. Mark

E-tec will handle the e-10 fuel, don't waste your money on 91 octane. You will see no performance gains.

I added a fuel water seporator and add SeaFoam to treat the fuel.

Have you had any problems with E10, filter plugging, fuel line issues, plugs, etc.? How often do you use your boat, do you fill your tank after use to prevent moisture ingress, what do you do if you store your boat? Lots of issues to consider, I will not be using my boat for another month as lakes and rivers are still frozen, I want to figure this out before fishing starts.

    thx for your input

Morning Mark, sent you email about your HDS7 btw.

I keep my boat fuel level down and treated with Stabil Marine all the time. I have an inline fuel filter/water separator and check it once or twice a year.

I take my boat out a couple times a month average 4 days. No problems with E10 to date. I did replace the fuel lines last fall as a proactive measure. Being in the south I never store my boat.

I've been running the ethanol 10% for two years. I do add Startron with every fillup and have not had any problems... also seems to have given me back a couple mph...

Make sure you treat the gas when you put it in. Startron seems to be working very well for this. The issue with the ethanol is when it sits for a while.
