    Boyesen Reeds?

'92 GT 200, Is this a good investment? How hard is it to change them? What gaskets will I need for this swap? It has the factory reeds now. Just wondering. Thanks in advance!

Before he tells you, we don't do hop up, however, I would suggest you call Boyesen and get their jetting recommendations for your engine, and make sure you can get jets. I ordered mine online. Then hunt around for the best price, I think one of the advertisers on the board has the best price I have found.

I would think you need the intake manifold gasket, thats all I plan on replacing. In other words, I ain't taking the carbs off if I can help it.

I liked Boyesens on my 70hp omc, and I expect to like them on my GT175, just haven't ordered them yet.

If i'm not mistaken, you will have to take the carbs off to get to all the bolts...........

In my opinion, they are not worth the money, you may see a 1 MPH increase in top end and the motor may idle a bit better but, if the motor lean spits....And it will....You will be buying another set of reeds and doing the install procedure all over again.

You will also have to change your timing specs, yep carbs off, intake off, reed blocks off and gaskets for all, sync n link etc. Your $$$ not worth it to me either. CM
