Thanks Berudd. I assume standby mode is considered “on”, correct? I always keep my console unit on all day but keep it in standby mode when I’m fishing to conserve battery.

I’ve also always wondered what happens when I backup my waypoints if everything is captured. I have waypoints that I created on both units. I usually just turn both units on and backup from one unit. Am I backing up all global waypoints doing that?

With your units being connect via Ethernet, yes that should be the case. However, I think it is possible to disable the waypoint sharing. But, I don't know how to check.

All units sync all waypoints every time they are turned on over Ethernet. So if they are on Ethernet, they have all the same waypoints. For NMEA, you can go into the Pages, Settings, Network, NMEA menu and turn off Waypoint Sharing. But why? No reason too even though they are syncing over Ethernet.
