Hey guys. First post, but have read for hours! I have a 2008 150 Optimax that I have been chasing an intermitent miss. I have had it since new and it is on a 2008 Pro Craft 192 SP. Idles fine, and about every 10 or 20 seconds, it will just stumble. Only really noticeable when in gear at idle. Very annoying. I have cleaned my injectors (all 12), had the rails cleaned and tested, along with the diaphragms. New plugs and wires. Coils all seem to jump 3/8 to 1/2 inch. VST is clean. New fuel lines from the tank, to the lift pump. Rebuilt the lift pump. I replaced the reeds about a year ago. I do not think they are broken again, but have not taken it apart to see. If it matters, I went from the stock steel reeds (One was chipped), to CCMS glass reeds. 115 to 120 psi on all 6 cylinders. 80/90 psi on air/fuel at idle. Would a TPS cause something like this? I watched the voltage idling, and it did not seem constant. usually around 0.3, but would drop down to 0.15 and then back to 0.3. I also noticed that at WOT, I only have 3.43 volts out of the TPS. That is low. Right? Can I adjust that up with the stop screw, as long as I keep the butterfly with 1/16 inch clearance on it's stop? This all started a couple of years ago. Around the same time, I got a new prop. 23P Tempest. I love the prop, but can only turn 5200 RPM. I have since learned about being over proped, and I may be. I am concerned now, that the TPS is keeping me from getting to WOT, and not cleaning the engine out. Could adjusting the throttle fix that? Could the low reading on the TPS mean that I am not getting WOT, when I have the throttle leaver all the way down? I know that is several problems, but I think they may be related. I am uploading a video of the miss.
Any help is appreciated!!
