    went to lake lewisville

saturday and the crowds were not as bad a I thought they would be. Fishing for bass was not good just a bunch of dinks.. The only problem I had was I was fishing by the dam and these two boat pulling skiers would come with 25 yards of us. I could have hit them with a lure. Problem is they had the whole dam area to the west of us and you could have skied for 200 to 300 yards to the north and no problem. Question is do they just not care that they are that close or are they just that stupid..
A friend was fishing on a bank casting up to it and a jet skier went between him and the bank. I just don't get it.. I see why Lewisville is so dangerous

I think both, most just don't know that they are impossing and then some are young and just don't care about others, its all about them.

People with no clue is the reason I stay off Lewisville and Grapevine, especialy during the weekends. I'm surprised more people aren't killed in boating accidents on those lakes.

It was the same way on Nasworhty (Nastywater). It looked like Miami Beach. I have never seen so many big Tige' type boats on such a small lake in my life. I took Becky for a boat ride and she was scared to death. We almost got ran over once and had several cutoffs and boats that never saw us. It is amazing that someone is not killed every weekend. I will give credit to the lake police. I saw those red and blue lights quite often.

It is a nice lake to see from a distance but up close it is nasty from all the trash. The lake is way to small and shallow to accommodate the crowds that frequent the lake. It was a zoo this weekend. The shad fry were thick and the fish were fat as pig though.... And San Angelo makes Abilene look really bad as a city. to the city officials.

Re: went to lake lewisville (Rangerman225)

I never fish on Lewisville on weekends, one reason is I work weekends. If I do it's at night and we will be in one spot where a lot of ski boats don't go. Most of them are people who don't know how to drive a boat to save their lives. We sit in the cut of the old dam and we count many baots who just blow that area at speeds ignoring the no wake zone. Last year there was a county cop and game warnden boat there and was writing up as many as they could get, the jetski cops would chase the boats that drive off down and write those ones up.
