speaking of ice, it's shelf life is over til November. I talk chit about tournaments in hot weather so I'm gonna do all I can in case I catch a fish
Besides, the times that I do place fish (under 4 lbs) in my livewells, I ain't real concerned about their health.

I learned a trick this weekend Cork we took some of those water bottles 12oz and fill them with lake water and froze them. Day of tour you take the lid off and put one in livewell every hour. They also help keep ice longer in your ice chest.

In hot weather, like now, I take eight 20 oz. Gaterade bottles, fill with water and freeze them. I keep them in a separate soft bag cooler. In half of them I mix in about a spoonful of Please Release Me. I will alternate putting the plain water bottle in (with the lid closed) and the PRM bottles, with the lid off. The PRM will slowly release and cool the livewell at the same time. When I do this I run the recirc, not the auto. However, you need to replace the water a couple of times during the day to get rid of all the fish urine, etc., which turns to ammonia.
Works for me! No dead fish.
