    San Antonio area

I may be moving to the San Antonio area. How is the fishing in that area?

Also, what areas do I need to look at for houses? Been looking online around the Floresville and La Vernia areas. Any specific areas I need to stay out of?

    Thanks,
    Charlie

Fishing is some of the best in the country. You have Choke Canyon & Amistad 1.5 hrs away and Falcon is about 2.5 hrs. If you don't want real big fish Canyon lake is 45 min. Floresville and Lavernia would not be my first choice but it depends on where you are going to work. You don't want a comute that takes you all the way across town.

I'll be working at the Toyota Plant on the south side of San Antonio.

It has been a while scince I was down there but I belive there were some very nice new subdivisions that went in close to the plant. Give a realator a call and let them check things out for you..

I've been trying to look online but I want to ensure I've got room for either a 2nd garage or a pole barn for the boat and other toys.

    Try searching on: http://www.landsoftexas.com

Here's a place near Von Ormy. It's on that side of town. It has a barn.

I would move to Castroville if it was me. I am the golf pro at the golf course there and live in san antonio. The area is very nice and its only a 25 min. drive to the toyota plant. Plus you are already on Hwy. 90 on your way to amistad. lol!!

    Re: San Antonio area (WFO_88_201)

Fishing is great!! Canyon lake , (dunlap, placid aka guadalupe river lakes).. I spend alot of my time at dunlap but i also live on the North east side of town that puts me 20 mins away from those lakes and i have caught alot of good fish out of there these past couple yrs...

If you choose to live closer to the south side of town its puts u closer to the Toyota plant, braunig and calaveras lake which are good redfish and catfish lakes (bass fishing is super tough out there)... Choke is about 1.5hrs away from amistad bout 3hrs... There are alot of new subdivision and properties popping up on the south side of town with the plant being here now, that area is really growing!!!
