MinnKota Powerdrive V2 - No GPS Signal - No Spotlock

My apologies if this topic has been touched on before. I'll keep it brief:

New remote bought in Spring of 2018.
    Brand new Battery in remote.
Motor runs normally as should. i.e. when you hit the prop button it turns on and can be steered and speed increased/decreased
    All wires/connections secure/in place.
    Batteries fully charged
    No GPS signal on remote
Tried re-pairing remote to TM - no dice

Anyone have experience with this issue?

Just to get it out of the way: The boat is outside when experiencing this issue, right?

Yes, the issue occurs while out on the water. Last time was in Lake Michigan in Chicago, so not occurring in remote area.

Look inside the left wall of the base and get the serial number. Would help me more.

Ok I had to be sure about the GPS and remote. This unit is the older GPS model. It is no longer available. If you can get your hands on another remote this could be a remote problem.
Maybe the ASC might have one. You may be able to get the upgrade, but I believe you will have to get a new board too. Parts will run you around $600. I had that same GPS and sold it last year.

ASC Authorized Service Center. Upgrade replaces the old GPS you have to a new Bluetooth style which is more reliable. You said that the remote is new. Was it working good at first? If not then you have a bad GPS module if it is not going into spot lock.

Thanks for clarifying. Yes, the remote was working as it should have. Took it out of the packaging, synced it with the TM, hit the water and it functioned perfectly. That was in May and the TM was used nearly every weekend up until October (when spot lock stopped working).

Thanks for your input thus far. Really helps with decision making.
