Hey Bob, I do not fish it regularly this time of year as I am super busy at work, but I have fished it a ton and would be able to take you out on a Sunday if interested. Just IM me when you get a date and get closer to the trip if interested.

If you can hook up with Jack...do it. He has a lot more knowledge than I do on Conroe....but if not, my offer stands.

Yeah, Conroe would be the closest, huh. I mean I know there are guys that have figured that lake out (like Jack), but I only go there because of the proximity since the grass was eaten up. It definitely still holds some awesome fish....just have to put in a lot of work to find 'em.

    Hey Jack,

Maybe you can help a local out. I've lived here in the area for about a year, and still haven't ventured out to Conroe. I spend all my time on Toledo Bend and Rayburn. If you're willing to give up a seat, I'll buy the gas and beer.

Funny you say that. I'm going Wednesday and Thursday if my plans don't get changed. You're welcome to go with me if you like. The fish are on the move. If I was fishing today I would concentrate out on the longer points that run out toward the river, docks close to the deeper water, riprap, and the ridges out off the river. That's where they were late last week. Had two very nice fish late last week on a crankbait.

That said though the shallows will start to produce more and more as this weather stays like it is. I would definately check them out after 10:00am just to be sure. There were some up shallow (2-4') late last week late in the day.

    Re: lake conroe (Jack Yates)

Jack thanks for the tips. I have been fighting Conroe for a couple of years and am finally catching a few fish shallow when the time is right. Now learning to fish the deeper structure is my goal. I just have to get up the nerve to make those runs up the lake and take the beating you get on a "good" day up there. It is too close to home for me not to fish there.

    See ya.

Well I did not go today. I am for sure not going tommorrow. Winds 30+ and storms possible with lightning. That's a battle I will fight another day.
