    hey omc gurus?

i am thinkin at the end of summer that i need to put a water pump in my motor not that i know any reason to but i dont know when it was done last so i thought i would be betterr safe than sorry that way i know when it was done
the question i have is are they hard to do?
i did quite a few on older smaller motors like 40-50 hp motors and i would like to save as much money as possible.
i am pretty mechanicly inclined i was just wonderin if they are a real bear to do or not?

Nope, not hard to do, about the same as the motors you have done before.

I will Hopefully have a "How to" section up by the time you need it that will explain the procedure along with photos of what each step is and how to do it.

    Stay Tuned...

As long as the pump housing is good you should only need an Impeller and its around 40 bucks.

The whole waterpump kit with the plate, cup, housing, bolts, gaskets, grommets, seals, driveshaft lube, impleller, etc. is only $55-$60.

    You are right Seahorse......

The Impeller alone is part number 5001593 @ $32.86.

The water pump kit complete, including the housing is part number 5001594 @ $57.26.

I will. SEAHORSE, is that an upgrade over the standard impeller?

It's a marketing ploy, it is called the deluxe version and it only costs 20% more.
