better Pop a top, or Pull a cork...long read

Hard for me to write a short version since this was the first fishin rally I have attended. I arrived @ Elm Creek and was met by a fine gentleman named Jerry, thanks so much to him for making me feel very welcome and for his effort and concerns towards our group. His place is kept very nice and I thought it was really cool that Elm Creek Village has had no other owners except for his family since the lake was impounded.
Craig took extra time off from work to show up Thursday and carry me around the lake as much as the wind would allow. He made a heck of an effort to find some bites and was a very considerate man in the boat and also at camp making sure I felt welcome. It was obvious he would have rather seen me catch fish than himself. I knew a true friendship was to be when he had me run the troll motor for my benefit and when I went to give it back he said dang that didn’t work too long, he was enjoying the break. Then after I caught the lone fish I mentioned that he better start takin a hungry mans aim on em cause I had a commanding lead. Normally I’m somewhat of a loner so Craig I hope yer ears have healed from me runnin my mouth that night. As TD and chief cook and bottle washer, I thought he done a great job for all involved. Atta Boy WB!
Everyone of you were a pleasure to be around, Ron is the most down to earth man there is and a lot more spunky in person than on the web. Skip, you are a “critter”, certainly a gentleman and have a way of making ALL your comments heard whether in jest or being serious. Martha is a dear lady, so I don’t know who set the hook first between you two. Reggie was great to be around and seemed to be the most “serious” of the crew, and was interesting to hear of his travels and experiences fishing different places. I don’t think he got any dirt on him the whole time.
Jeff was one of the most pleasant guys I been around and was interesting to hear him explain how the lakes are out that way. Good thing he’s a pleasant guy cuz I wouldn’t want to see him lose that pretty partner he had, Kerry is a sweet gal for sure.
Danny is cool dude, very laid back and prolly keeps his partner lined out. He loaded me up on some Mesquite too, appreciate that.
William is a big teddy bear, and glad he didn’t get angry at me cuz I believe he could of pinched my head off. Dem beer cans in his hand looked like a pill bottle. Him and David were good folk, good fishermen, and fun to be around.
Hugo,, well……..he was up to true form. He and Monica are a great pair and very outgoing, making it fun for all. Great to meet you both and thanks for the fine grub.
Doug and his Unc didn’t hang around long but was nice to meet ya’ll.
Jordi, just don’t know man. I couldn’t understand a dang word you said and you pert near tumped the whole picinic table over on everybody. HAAH, just kiddin, you have a great family and it was nice meeting you all.

Hope I didn’t forget anyone and I thank you all for makin it a great time.

    Tight Lines, TT

Troy you sounded a like a good guy to be a friend with and I couldn't believe u made the long drive to Ivie. William your jigs that you made were awesome. Ron your boat must goes really fast with that hijack things. Jerry your just a good guy and of course the hamburgers and the fries were good. Reggie I don't know u but u seemed nice and was nice to meet u. Craig I think u did a good job at appericating everybody at the lake. So I hope I get to see yall next year.

I feel the same, and said the exact same thing about ya'll to Craig and Danny before we split paths Sunday. Shame we couldn't do it ever couple months and Craig said yeah maybe meet halfway somewhere. I told em I believe T Bend was pretty close to halfway for everybody

Troy , it was great to meet you. You were the life of the party. I loved the stories you told. You kept us all laughing. Next time you fish a lake over here just go out with a better guide first. I hope to see you and the rest of the fine people from the mini at next years rally .

Alright guys. If you had to depend on me for guide service you would be in a very tough position. My intentions were to keep the feller company not guide him and I hope I did a fine job. I can't speak for him but I think I made another good friend and those are hard to come by.

Yep, honeymoon over. If I had a partner that didn't get rolling on the ground funny face the night before, then get in my boat and just sits back there with this "what am I suppose to be doing here look, or where am I look" then we would have did better, but NO you had to show your Man Hood the night before.

    That is funny,
Reggie it takes a pretty strong willed man to purposely not catch fish in order to not give up his spots.

Only 1 more day of meds and then hopefully I will be back on top. Started to come to weigh in, thought real serious about it but just didn't feel much like it was the best thing to do. Wished I could have made it, think I could have put you on some fish WB bank beater only knows so much Hopefully next time.
