I was told he got arrested at the bud light tournament. any details?
He was supposedly caught cheating in a "biggest bass" tournament yesterday.He supposedly had stuffed a one pound weight into a fish and supposedly admitted it before they gave him the poly. He supposedly admitted it on his website last night too. He has won thousands of dollars fishing by himself in team tournaments and always passed the polys. First place big bass in this tournament he supposedly cheated in was a boat. Sad, sad thing for his family.

They didn't even have to give him a poly. The fish he weighed in sunk to the bottom of the tank and couldn't swim. So, they pulled the fish and found the weight in it's stomach. They then took him aside and questioned him. He admitted it before they administered a poly.This crime has a maximum sentence of $5,000 and one year in prison. I think with his record of tournament wins, he just might get the maximum sentence.
Now you wonder how many fishermen that actually won the tournaments that Robby took the first place money in got cheated out of a lot of money. He quit fishing BassChamps when they suspected him and put an observer in his boat as a condition of him fishing the tournaments.
I would guess that he will have to move far away and start a new life for the sake of his family. He will never be able to fish in a tournament in the US for the rest of his life. I can't imagine letting greed get to a man to such a degree.
I feel a deep sadness for his wife and family in the years to come.
Somehow though, we must find it in our hearts to forgive him for his sin. We don't have to like the man or ignore what he did. But, it's not up to us to pass judgement. It's up to the man above.

To forgive is one thing, to forget is another. This man took thousands upon thousands of dollars from honest people.........
He left weigh in after being confronted. Autorities were called. He came back to weigh was handcuffed and taken into custody.
He took his website down...

Robby will never again fish another tournament in his life. what a joke. hope it was worth it.
Everyone always says what about the guys that came in 2nd? I say what about the guys that came in just out of the money? Funny thing about that ego. Screws you every time.
Unbelieveable... he has been accused for years and has had many many defend him.
I just watched a Basschamps rerun where he had a camera in the boat and caught hardly any fish at all. Then the camera left him alone and he weighed in a monster...

Wow what a Idiot! I couldn't imagine the guilt i would feel to even think of something like that how could you be proud and hold your head high after something like that. I guess some people just have no morals at all.
I met Robby many years ago....a former partner of mine bought one of his BassCats...I had talked to him several times since then....he turned me on to some baits that he was using...unkown to him I had another friend who was a very good stik...and he also threw one of those baits quite often...which was an odd colored crankbait....I beleived he was a good fisherman and I was always on the fence about whether he was a cheat or not.....now I guess I know....it was a shock....the thing that puzzled me was the fact that even with the weight he would not have won the boat....his fish was still second by weight...now his whole fishing career is lost...I guess if your a cheater you will get caught sooner or later...

There was another guy here in Central Texas that failed a poly after a tourney. Not only did he fail but his partner who fished with him on many occations failed the poly as well. One failed 4 times and the other 5 times at the same tourney. They are still fishing around here. But just in the couples club. The sdame situation surrounded him as it did with Rose sounds like. This guy was rumored to be cheating for years just like Rose and he finally got caught as well.
