    Lake Falcon for my B-Day!!

My wife and I have always taken trips for each other's birthday since the year we met. It is usually something pretty cool (Ireland for her 30th, Banff Canada & Pebble Beach for a couple of mine, etc) that we both would enjoy. Well, I am turning 40 in a couple of weeks and have had a hard time deciding what to do, mainly 'cause I am not too excited about the 40 part........so as a joke (she does not fish) I mentioned Falcon. She said "let's go!" Booked the room today! WOOHOO! Just had to share!

Save me a piece of that cake. I will be down there myself in two weeks.

Outstanding. Good luck and enjoy. Remember, lots of water, so be careful.

Thanks Jack, take comfort in knowing that I am called "Grandpa" by my wife for my driving on the road and that carefulness pretty much transfers to the water. Besides, I was caught in a northern blowing in back in January 20 miles South of our ramp there and I will not let that happen again!

WOW! If any of you guys have a chance to hit Falcon anytime soon.............I would do it. "Fish in a barrel", "Ducks on a pond", whatever old saying you can apply....it is easy as hell to have a great day there right now. My wife (1st time on a lake bass fishing ever) and I whacked 'em everytime we put the boat in the water this weekend. She is hooked, but definitely ruined. I kept telling her "This is not normal" all weekend just so she doesn't think it is that easy. We had about a half dozen dinks all weekend; countless 2's and 3's- multiple 4's, 5's, and 6's...and topped them all with an 8-11 this morning an hour before we had to get off the water. What an awesome birthday that I was definitely not looking forward to (damn 40th)!

This is 6+ girl I found floating on Saturday with what appears to be a 1.5# or more Tilapia lodged in her gullet. What a shame.

Here is a lil' wildlife encounter. She was asleep under a rocky bluff until we woke her up cruising by.

My partner had one rather large bass on that was shaking the tree, but we could not get her to come out. After about a minute a half digested Tilapia came floating to the surface while the tree was still shaking. That half of a Tilapia weighed close to two pounds. I sure did want to see that bass; almost as bad as my fishing partner.
