That's what I was thinking. When I got over top of it with my 2d sonar, the screen read up to 240ft before blanking out. There must be some soft of cover over it though. My 2d sonar (X-135) still showed a thin bottom, but no grey area. This is actually the second time that has happened on that lake. Very interesting...
