    Foggy

This the first time I have ever seen fog come down in sheets, the forecast was for fog early and clearing in the afternoon. It is lighting and thundering right at the moment and is coming a gully washer. Once again our illustrious have missed the forecast.

Wish we could get some of that in Breckenridge, rains all around us and only sprinkles here. Wendsday just south and east of us they got good rains but nothing for us. Hubbard creek is 5 foot low need RAIN before summer or it will be 10 low.

Yeah, they missed the wind forecast yesterday at Ivie too. "Wind out of the west southwest at 5-15. Well, it went from 5 to 15 and didn't stop until it was 25 gusting to 35. I took my father in law fishing because the weather was going to be nice and he wouldn't have to worry about the boat ride, he gets a little nervous when the wind blows, he used to have a tri-hull.

Anyway, I have a 20' boat and while fishing I had waves coming over the bow and trolling motor on high. Needless to say we didn't have a glassy smooth ride back to the ramp! I was fine with it, father in law was white knuckling it all the way in. I can't imagine what it would have been like in his old tri hull!!

When I saw the title, I thought you were talking about your mind, and after reading what you wrote, I'm convinced of it.

More than you know Skip, more than you know! He's a good guy that likes to fish, he just doesn't fish according to the lake and conditions and he won't adjust. I am not kidding, I have caught 30 fish and he has caught one, but he won't do what I am doing and is still thinking if one bit with his style, there ought to be more. I finally learned to be a guide until I can't take it, then just go about fishing. I don't want anyone to think that I don't like my father in law, I really do, but I just know my limits.

On a good note, I didn't catch any giants, but I did set the hook on one that didn't budge, then she shook her head twice and can unbuttoned, and another one I set the hook on and straightned out a 6/0 hook. At least I had a couple chances. Frustrating but encouraging at the same time.

    Re: Foggy (elm creek)

Not exactly the type of weather I would want to be fishing in.

That's for sure. Abilene is just using Hubbard and Ivie right now for water, so when the grass really kicks off, I'm afraid they'll be sucking a full straw ...
