    396 Ranger

I posted this on the setup page and the Ranger page and got a few replies. Now I will ask the question on this board. I have a 1989 396 Ranger with a 2001 225HO and a 6" manual jack plate. With a 25 renegade I turn 5950-6000 rpm's.I have a chance to trade for a 27 renegade. Would I benifit from this combo. Tod recomended a 26 tempest. I would like to stay BRP. thanks in advance. I am getting 65.9gps alone with my son and I 62-63. The two of us are 225-250#.

If you could try the 27 first I would suggest you do just that, some 27 Renegades did not run as well as the 25's, they seemed to slip alot.

Would a 91 prop fit my 2001 motor? The 91 is a fast strike.

Yes, as long as the hub will fit a John/Rude.
