13 Pounder Caught On Amistad Saturday

One of the guys that's fishing the WTTT caught a 13.0 on Amistad Saturday. He sent me the pictures this morning. I can't post a picture of her because the background objects make it way too apparent exactly where he caught her. It took me 1 second to figure out where he was at. He weighed her, photographed her and turned her loose, hoping she will be in the same area this coming weekend.

There were some 10 pounders caught Saturday also. I know of at least 4 over 10 that were photographed. This weekend should show some huge hawgs on the scales with the FLW and WTTT there. I honestly think that you will see a 35 pound bag in the tournaments this weekend.

The wife and I caught around 30 there Saturday, but no big fish for us. We had several 2 3/4 to 3 pounders. But, the area I'm fishing is known for having the big girls move up in it one week after these 3 pound bucks move up. Keeping my fingers crossed!

The picture has a particular house in the background that everyone knows about. I don't think it would be right to put a picture of where he will be fishing on a public website. He might have 30 boats sitting next to him. :) I'll post a picture after our tournament on Saturday. I hope we have some other pictures of hawgs that are caught during our tournament to post along with that one. I will put it on my website next week under the pictures section. Man, she sure is a pretty fish with those huge eyeballs!

I couldn't believe he turned loose a possible Lunker entry. He said they had to think long and hard about it. But, thought there might be a slim chance she will be there again on tournament day. He actually said that she was on a bed with a 4 pound male that he caught right before he caught her. He didn't know there was a bed up there until he came back an hour later to look at the bottom where he caught her. He said that the 4 pound male and the 13 were sitting on a bed!! The water temp there was only 56 degrees. So, you never know if they were just up sunning and the male thought she was cute or if they were actually thinking about doing the dance. They were only in 4 foot depth!

Glad you got the camera boat job. Bet that was a blast. I was standing in front of the stage, by the cameraman when they weighed in that 12.0 pound beauty!!

By the way, the telephone poles are the ones that run along side the road at Air Force. Found out he was a little ways from there when the picture was taken, as he had to find a camera.

I guess she was not there when this guy went back during the tournament ?

I did not see or hear of any fish on the beds this week...most of the FLW guys were still fishing a winter pattern with a few fish starting to move up.
Seemed like main lake points in close proximity to some spawning areas was the best ticket..
