    Power Pack?

    1994 175 hp Intruder
Model # good ? plate is missing
Serial # good ? plate is missing or I do not know wear to look

Starts fine and runs fine. The first hole shot rpms run up to 3800 and continues to run on out good. At WOT the rpms at at 5600 to 5700 and top speed is 57 gps with load. During long run the rpms will drop down to 5100 to 5200 with max speed of 52 to 53 mph. Sit and fish and the hole shot is alot less desirable with only 3000 rpms until it starts to climb on out. All spark plug wires seem to be good i just changed and gapped plugs 4 weeks ago. Checked spark and all seems good and all plugs seem to be burning evenly. I have been running and all of a sudden it picks back up and runs for a short distance.

The million dollar question is could this be the power pack starting to fail? And yes I have had wing nuts on the cranking battery. I also had the main power source going to the starter work lose last year. I have cheked all the grounds that I can find and all are tight. sorry for the long post just wanted to give you as much info as possible. Thank you in advance.

    Thanks Championman.
What is the best way to determine which one maybe bad?
It does bog down and lose power at times during the hole shot when I hit the trim button.

Volt meter would be a good place to start. Hook it to your battery and monitor it while running.
