Yea we are going to our place on Ivie. Haven't been down for about 3 months and need to go check things out and do a little fishing if the wind will let us.![]()
I am taking a Vacation Day so your Tax$$$$$ are safe.![]()
I'm thing about running up to Hubbard Creek and get some of those crappie that was messing with us last weekend.Yum!!
morning gangHave a safe and a good one today.
Ron I haven't read about any sharelunkers coming out of Ivie in a couple of years. Is the lake dropping off, or is the low water hurting it? Maybe you should pick up some minnows and crappie fish. You could catch the fish of your life.
Johnny, I think Fishermen caught one just under 13# there 2-3 weeks ago. That's the first fish over 6# I've heard of coming out of Ivie in over 3 years. I may have to take that back, cause it seems Ron told me that Linda caught one a little over 8# a few months back. Regardless, when the lake dropped to about 30' low and you were hearing of Golden Alga up the Colorado, all the big fish dissappeared. Don't know if they just went deep or what, but for 2-3 years 10# would have won about any tournament on Ivie. Our last Club Open there in Sept 2003, big fish was about 5.5#. That also would have taken big fish in the Runnels Co Tournament going on the same weekend. Pretty sad!!![]()
It seems to be getting better though!Just need more rain. Lake is down about 17' right now.
That is sad for a lake that appeared ready to challenge Fork for big fish several years ago. Guess Alan Henry has taken over that spot now. It will be interesting to see if AH holds up over time the way Fork has.
