Hello Fred. Part of the Greenville crowd here. I was on Saluda last Wed. 2/29.
The dredging is ongoing. They are still removing the muck island at the mouth of the river. TThe co. has built a road from the sand co. property out to the river. Riprapped and all. Even have a pipe fom the river proper to the inside of the road into the big cove. Water is pretty stained and wt was 58. Caught a 3#r in front of the sand co. boat landing area. 3 feet of water. It was a buck.
They have placed a silt screen around the muck area in front of the old landing. Saludalakelanding.com and the owner said they told him they would be starting to suck that part out in about a month.
They are going to dredge a very extensive area. About 24 surface acres accoding to a guy I spoke with from the dredger. Caught another good fish ouit in front of the old landing docks as I was comming in. Looked real beat. May have been a fish released at the landing during one of their recent Txs.
The water down lake is stained with visability to about 18 inches with a white SB.(thats what I caught the fish on). WT still hi 50s near 60ish.
Thats it for now. Hope it helps.
Oh BTW landing owner told me a 5# smallmouth was weighted in last week. It was caught from a brushpile downlake. He didn't have the coordinates!!!
