Never been there either Jimmy but I do know you need a NC license to fish their side or they will bust your azz. Post this up on the NC club too lot of Charlotte guys fish that lake.

Where are you launching from? I can give you some tips for where you can find some fish. My club fishes there several times a year and I've only zeroed once (on cold extremely muddy water).

I usually always start in Snugharbor Creek. I'll start at the mouth of the creek where the big house is on the point and work around the pocket that is there. The pocket goes to the left and the creek swings to the right. I normally have my best luck from the mouth at the house around the pocket up to the pink house. There are several good boat docks and floating boat houses in that pocket.

Catawba and Crowder creeks are both good too.

Be sure to have a spinning rod with a shakey head rigged up. That is a pretty leathal combo up there. I typically use green pumpkin zoom finesse or shakey worms and also watermelon red. As the water cools down, try the Bomber Fat Free Shad crankbaits in chart/blue color. The Fat Free Fry (I think is what it's called) is usually pretty good in the creeks when the fish move in and start their feast before winter.
