help with my 98 faststrike

98 115 faststrike j115glecm. Been having trouble on the initial startup. Once fired she will turn over all day first try. Never seems like the bulb gets all the way tight. Disconnected fuel line at filter, changed filter, before connecting fuel line back i squeezed bulb and fuel shot out hose. After connecting back, squeezed bulb for like 30 minutes , but it seems like fuel has trouble once it enters filter. Just seems to me like on the first time start in the morning i can never get enough fuel in carbs, but once she fires, im good all day. wot it runs fine. Any suggestions? thanks for looking

Check you float in your VST.

what is my VST? is it accessible? what should i look for in regards to it?

okay i think the vst is the vapor separator? i have located it. can i take the top off and look inside to see float without having to buy any gaskets? how will i know if it is stuck?

i found the vapor separator and the pump for it. looks like the 2 are connected but there looks to be four bolts attaching the top to the bottom with the float being inside. it looks like i can get to three bolts, but the one on back right(pump side) looks almost impossible to get to without removing flywheel and/or vapor pump. any ideas?
