    Question 1991 Johnson J150GL

Went fishing Sunday, back the boat off the trailor no problem, took off no problem then after about 100 yards I feel the boat start slowing down and when I let off the hotfoot it completely shut off and wouldn't start back up. I took it out and took a look around under the calon and didnt see anything wrong. I hooked the water hose up to it after a little while and it started running fine so I put it back in the water. Later on that day after running a few more spots with no problem it struggle to crank back up and my buddy had to push the throttle a few times and eventually it cranked back up. I hooked the hose up to it Tuesday to see if it would run and it cranked and ran fine. I took it out on the lake again on Wednesday to test it out because I have a tournament this weekend and it ran fine for a couple of hours and then on the way back to the ramp I felt it start slowing down again just like Sunday morning but this time I road it out to see if it would just shut off or stay running. It stayed running but wouldn't go above 30mph and when I took my foot off the hotfoot it shut off and wouldn't crank back up. I don't know too much about working on the motor. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Sounds like one of your electrical components is heating up and causing the issue. You've got a choice of three parts. Stator, Power Pack and voltage rectifier/regulator. Was your tach acting up or battery charging normally? Sounds like it could be the Pack to me.

My battery is charging normally but I am not too fond of those other components.
