Any one/club looking for new non boater to fish tourny's or to just fish?

Moved up to MD late last year from Fl. Didnt bring the boat, looking for a club that accepts non-boaters, or someone to fish BBC tournys with or just go fishing. Please let me know if anyone would like a partner for a day or a tourny.

    Thanks

    Habby,

Tried that number, sad, but temp out of service. Would you happen to have another POC. As far as I can tell they have no website, so no luck there.

Here is the MD BASS site to see what all clubs are out there. I take it by your signature you are now stationed in MD? If so there are places on base you can store your boat. Bolling AFB down in DC has its own little marina you could launch from. I live in Hagerstown and fish down at Black Hills Lake Seneca a lot so I could take you out on the water there.

Re: Any one/club looking for new non boater to fish t ... (Munkin)

    Allen,

Looked that lake up on the web, looks good. Have a few questions.
Would I need only a freshwater license to fish there or could I use the license that allows me to fish the Potomac river. Also, are you going out this weekend? If so, let me know if you would like a partner. I am off of work this Sat and itching to fish. If not do you know of any places a person can fish fromt eh shore there?

    Thanks

    JD

Re: Any one/club looking for new non boater to fish t ... (tritonboy2001)

Here in MD you need a freshwater Non-Tidal license ($20.50) to fish any of the lakes or the Potomac River above Great Falls. Anything that is tidal you will need an additional license called the Resident Bay & Coastal Sport ($15). Some of the different lakes may have an additional permit required but I do not fish anywhere that requires them.

As for places to fish I have not fished Lake Seneca between Sep-Mar so I cannot give any advice on it. If I had to pick a spot though for this time of the year I would try under the bridge.

Someplace else to consider is the Dickerson Power plant on the Upper Potomac river. When they are generating power they water they discharge back into the Potomac is a fish magnet. I have not fished there in like 4 years but I do remember catching a bass there on a topwater in Febuary when it was snowing.

Jason you could always do the ABA down at smallwood. I fish this all the time and they are always looking for co's.

You can also contact New Horizon Bass Anglers if you are interested in the Potomac River and other tournaments around VA. They have a website, forum and monthly meetings. Most tournaments are on the Potomac but they also travel around the state a bit and fish away tournaments. That's where I got my start.

if you want to hit the upper potomac (around hagerstown), or seneca lake, i can fish just about any day as long as i have a bit of a notice. i'll start fishing in the next month or so - once the water hits 46, i tend to catch my biggest fish of the year

Fellas, thanks for the replies. I am amped to get out on the water with you all up here and learn/experience fishing up here. Cleaned the reels, lubed them up, rdy to go, just need to get a license. Is there one license in MD that I can get to cover everything I will need for BASS fishing?

    thanks

46? You know the biggest SM are caught in sub-forty degree temps on the Upper Potomac. Hair jigs and frozen shut eyelets is the only way to fish
