Fuel Primer bulb 2001 johnson 150

I have been working with my boat getting it to run alittle better and I have it running much better thanks to your help on this site. Now I think I need to change the primer bulb it doesnt stay hard all the time so is the bulb bad?.. If so how hard is it to change that line out what all is involved in putting a new one on? How does it hook up to the motor and where does the other end hook up at or can you just splice into the old one. Everyone says also go with the omc bulb and line is this true.
Thanks again for all your help and time

its not hard at all, 2 hose clamps, 1 on each of end of the bulb, unscrew the clamps, pull the bulb off, install new one, and yes...make sure you get an OMC blub with the yellow 3/8" fittings on each end.

If your line is cracked and showing signs of age, I would replace it.

bulb going soft a little? or sucking flat/ Careful, you have a fuel restriction from the bulb somewher back to the tank. This cause running problems and blown powerheads or replacing a lot of needless parts (fuel pumps vro pumps, etc.) A vacuum checkon suction side of fuel system by a practicing outboard tech should verify correct results as described in evin/john serv. manuals. If you can't find one, then contact me at bike1511@hotmail.com.

Dave is an awesome OMC tech with plenty of know how. I've talked with him over the phone and he will walk you through the repair. He is just trying to help.
