BASS Federation Nation ( Not FLW Federation )

Is their any interest in starting a club in the North Stafford, Dumfries, and Woodbridge area it would be in the BASS Federation Nation Region 1. I have already contacted them and The Va. Fed Nation officers are ready and willing to help put it in motion , all that is needed is 6 members to start. Any interest?

Are there any other clubs already in the region or would the club be a region of one?

Steve, as of now their are over 65 clubs in the Federation Nation regions 2-10 , also their are 4 youth clubs. As of now I do belive their are no clubs in Region 1 in our area, With the exception of Reg 8 all others are well represented . Further info can be found on the Fed Nation web site http://vafederationnation.com/.

Any idea on how the club would be structured? Fish with the same member all year or have draws prior to tx to decide? Just curious - thanks

    Re: BASS Federation Nation (GamblerPro2)

First I would like to thanks those that have replied and are interested, I will try and answer some questions and also give my thoughts. Mike Bryant is the President of Virgina's Federation Nation, he is willing to do what ever he can to help so the new club can get started and to expedite it along also his wife is the state secretary so thats a plus for the new club.

    1. The club would be the only club in Region 1 at this time.
    2. The state has said its up to the club to choose if we draw partners or fish with the same person each tournament but because of standings/ranking the tournaments cannot be a team fomat.
    3. I would like to see the club meet on Tuesdays evenings ( open to other days ) the week of the tournament, and the 1st Tuesday of the month during the winter months.
    4. The club tournaments would also be the Region 's touraments til the region expands.
    5. The club membership would vote on bodys of water to fish.
    6. The club would be invited to the State tournaments right off the bat, thats a plus.
    7. Their would be a cost to each member ( Mike Bryant will hi-jack this I hope and post info on nationial and state dues. Club dues would be up to the membership.
    8. I would like to see and keep the boater/non-boater ratio in check.
    9. Due to the economy (gas prices) I would like to see the tournaments keep local, but that would be up to the membership.
    10. Most important and for now I will leave it at this you should want to fish and have fun and have fellowship and if this is for you we need to get this going.

    Re: BASS Federation Nation (signmanbasser)

I hope it takes off for you. I'm interested to see the support now that BASS has some real leadership on board. I know that most of the State went with the FLW, and not surprised why. But things maybe changing, I'm still going to stay with the TBF until I see exactly what is going to take place in the next year with BASS. I let my membership expire when ESPN bought then and have not looked back, but I am now thinking of looking into it again.

A region of 1 would mean that almost all your state TX's will be somewhere else and not local. Kinda hard to have the rest of the state come to you when your the only one.

    Re: BASS Federation Nation (Gunny)

sounds good. My two cents are I have been on both the draw for partners (club members) and have your own partner you fish with. Understanding that during region, state, or other tournaments you do not fish with your standard partner and also understood it is not a team format and I like the garuntee of knowing my partner for the local tournaments. Will look for more volunteers also and sounds good to me since Gunny isnt interested we all might have a chance..

    Re: BASS Federation Nation (Gunny)

Gunny, I think their 6 man is on Kerr, as with the TBF. But everyone likes the Potomac, hell some their clubs fish some of their tournaments on the river. What hurts Leesylvania tournaments there are really no boat friendly motels on Rt 234 , or in the area, the one motel at Aquia Harbour in Stafford alittle better but who wants to deal with the traffic to and from Leesylvania. Lots of rooms for rent but no hook ups with most in area.
