Why does it hurt so much to lose your pet dog

Our mini Schnauzer that we have had for 15 years passed at lunch today. I cried like a baby digging her a grave.

I've never owned a dog until about a year ago. Got me a sweet little one year old lab. If anything happened to her I'd be inconsolable. I think the fact that they give you unconditional love and affection makes us feel this way.

    for your family.

I've cried over several, just as most of us who've ever known the unconditional love of a good dog have done... It absolutely hurts.

    Sorry about your pal, Roddy.

Sorry. It hits you in the biggest soft spot you have.

Had to console my youngest daughter last night over the death of her pet.

These are the hardest threads to read especially for us dog lovers. I'm sorry for your loss.
