As a guitarist,it's easy Eddie is much better. Ace is just okay. Both are better than me. Like both of their music but Kiss was just cooler.

Eddie has Ace beat on playing. Granted, Ace is good though and I was/am a big Kiss fan.

No other guitar player has done more with just his guitar than Ed. None.

KISS did great fro the marking and getting the right to the shirts etc to the artist. getting rights for the label and making money for the artist and making money on the tours. Most up to gene getting involved was all a money maker for the labels and not for the band.

Gene Simmons made great movements in rights for the bands. He need to be credited for that. Kissed sucked musically they just had their outfits and confrontation that they where against your parents

But for guitarist hands down, Eddie!!!

You need to get out more. There's way better players than EVH. John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, and Yngwie Malmsteen just to name 3. Ed is an innovator no doubt and just about all after him how him a debt. But just like how he perfected some of the stuff Hendrix and Frank Marino did...others have done the same or more where he left off.

In all fairness...Ace is cooler. He did his thing on stacks baby.

I'd take Eddie's pinky...ONLY his pinky...over Ace. As for the argument above....I wouldn't agree. Yngwie idolized Eddie, but also studied classical music. He's better on a technical level, but he's almost robotic. You don't get the same energy from him as from Eddie. Petrucci and Satch, both stellar guitarists, but how many songs by Satch would the average listener know outside of MAYBE 3 songs (summer song, surfing with the alien and always with me always with you)? Heck, I can't even identify more than that.

    So, you agree he's better...ok.

I thought we were gauging their guitar playing talent, not song writing ability.

Eddie all the way! I did just see Kiss for the first time last week. I was blown away! The show was awesome and the guy on guitar now can rip it. Never was a big Kiss fan, but count me as one now. Van Halen/Hagar are in a different class.
