    Lake Wallenpaupack??

I posted this in the PA. state forum and thought I'd try it here as well!

Every year 4 of us try and go fishing to a different place sometime in June. Been to Champlain, Oneida, St. Lawrence etc.
One of my buds suggested Lake Wallenpaupack. Is this a good bass fishery?
    Appreciate any info you have!

In my opinion doesn't compare to the other places you mentioned. Try Chumont Bay in new york.

It is a good place to fish..."IF YOU KNOW THE LAKE". Personally, I would go to the St. Lawrence River around Lake of the Isle and Eel Bay. I live 15 minutes from the Pack.... and I get very frustrated fishing it.

Hey all...think you will be very disappointed especially after the places you already mentioned...ever think north to Maine....I'd like to try a place like Sebago Lake.

I live within 3 hours of the Pac and only go there on rare occasions

Agree with the above... The Pack has lots-o-fish, they are often not cooperative. The timeframe you are talking about puts you perfect for Ontario, St. Lawrence and even the Finger Lakes. Just my 2 cents...

Like others have said, hit the pack at the right time - it's great. Hit it at the wrong time, well you just ought to join all the pleasure boats at that point. If you into traveling a distance, Lake Erie is a unique experience. It's a different type of fishing and ya have to be ready and prepared for some rough seas.

    Thanx folks. Great replies.

We went to Chaumont Bay last year when we went to the St. Lawrence. We try to stay within a 400 to 500 mile radius of NH and go from there. So far my buds choice of the "Pak" doesn't sound great. We may have to reconvene another meeting (drinking session) and pick another spot!

    Thanx again!

    Nope, never thought about it!

Are there lots of places to put in?
Could a camp on the river be rented?
    How are the rental prices?
What state/town would be a good place to stay?

If you are coming back to New York you could stay in the Auburn area and fish a few of the finger lakes, all with in a few miles of each other. Some awesome fisheries right there
