    200hp Ficht blowing fuse

    I have a 2000 200hp Ficht. Modle#RE200FLSSH Serial#G04864098

I found this fuse blown, everytime i replace it, it blows again.

My motor wouldent turn over, i found a cracked solenoid and a blown fuse. I replaced the starter soleniod, now i have the motor back together and this fuse keeps blowing. What can i check or what should my next step be? Thanks for your help.

A shop manual with the schematic will help you immensely. There are many circuits on that motor that you really need the schematics for it.

Didn't you post this before? You have a shorted EMM or the wire going to it.

That wire runs from that fuse directly to pin # 23 of the bottom starbord connector of the EMM! If you remove the connector and check that wire for a short to ground, if it is not shorted then you have a bad EMM. Pretty sure you have a bad EMM!

Is that the purple/white wire for the ignition? Can i check it without removing the connector? I cant get it out unless i remove alot of stuff, i just dont have enough confidence to do that just yet...

    I appreciate your help!

ok thanks, i'll remove the cover and get it out. one more question. Since the fuse blows as soon as i put it in, should i first disconnect the battery, then remove the connector, then replace the fuse, then re connect the battery, then check the connection?

I have loved this motor for the last few years, but i sure do miss my old simple motor!
