    timing on 1979 rude

    it says on the motor that the timing should be set at 26 deg. on number 1. is that at idle? If no then were should it be set?I set it at TDC and it ran ok just not sure that is right. it is a 1979 150HP Evinrude SER.J0003381.

    That is referring to wide open timing.
